The Guessing Game

The Guessing Game

The Life of a Mental Health Carer

Who supports and recognises the needs of mental health carers? A mental health carer can often face many challenges- stigma, isolation and living in an unpredictable environment. Derek’s story brings the issues alive and creates discussion about how best to include and recognise mental health carers as equal and active partners in the care team.

″Really powerful.″ − Professional at Open Event

THE GUESSING GAME ORIGINALLY DEVELOPED ON BEHALF OF AND IN CONSULTATION WITH GLASGOW MENTAL HEALTH CARER'S FORUM

A Story

Derek and Jane have a happy family life. Derek runs his own construction business, Jane works in insurance and they have 2 young children. All is going well. When situations change, Jane becomes unwell and Derek finds his life turned upside down.

The Triangle of Care

It promotes the inclusion and recognition of mental health carers as equal and active partners in the care team. The Guessing Game highlights the 6 standards within the Triangle of Care.
