“Have you asked anyone for help?”

“Asked them all – psychiatrists, nurses, doctors. I’m in the land of mystery, working everything out myself –   it’s a guessing game.”

The Guessing Game has:
“Given [me] the opportunity to reflect on my own conversations with carers.

Learned just how many barriers there are for carers and how frustrating that can be.”
Staff Member, Gartnavel Hospital

As a result of The Guessing Game I will start:
“To listen properly to carers, not just hear what I think they are saying”
Staff Member, Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen

The Guessing Game  promotes the Triangle of Care which advocates the inclusion and recognition of unpaid carers as equal partners in the care team.  As the drama unfolds about Derek and his family, the action stops and starts for you to participate – not to act, but to interact –  we simply ask for your thoughts, ideas and opinions.

As part of SMHAFF, we welcome anyone with an interest in mental health care and particularly professionals, unpaid adult carers and service-users.

The Guessing Game was developed in collaboration with GAMH and the Glasgow Mental Health Carers Forum.   At the events, donations to the Forum are very welcome.
