People Managers
- For People Managers / Team Leaders
Headtorch Aware enables people managers and team leaders to be confident in the support of their teams.
It does this through practical, straightforward learning and development (L&D) that de-mystifies mental health.
The #1 reason people leave their job is a bad manager
With the potential to influence positively or poorly, they’re key to workplace mental health.
We often hear that managers lack confidence to talk about mental health with their team:
- “What if I say the wrong thing?”
- “What if I make it worse?”
- “We’re busy, there’s no time for chit-chat.”
Headtorch Aware focusses on removing these fears and busting the myths. The programme gives people straightforward, practical tools they can use every day, to increase their confidence and build trust with their team.
How Headtorch Aware works
Delegates will develop confidence in best practice in workplace mental health. Using a variety of learning styles, participants look at areas including:
- what mental health is and isn’t
- spotting signs of somebody struggling
- how to have supportive conversations
- mental fitness and resilience
- understanding confidentiality and the legal obligations
- knowing what your role is and what it’s not
A bespoke fictional case study allows delegates to develop understanding and practice skills with a live actor. Drama brings issues to life – it makes the learning real, connecting head and heart.
People leave feeling energised and ready to hit the ground running.
